- The Lord continues to remind me of Sabbath. Who would have thought that I would be asked to speak on sabbath on my return? I found myself sharing devotions in groups and speaking in chapel at Upland Christian Academy on sabbath. It was clear to me that the Lord didn't want me to forget that I need to stop and hear him. That I need to remember to slow down, to not get caught up in the busyness of my life. Of course I am still struggling with this even today and working to remember daily sabbath.
- I am consciously incompetent when it comes to being a people pleaser. This might sound funny but one of the biggest lessons on Sabbatical was that I serve God and not people. That my focus can get off in this area and I can get distracted from serving God first. It is amazing that since my return I have been faced with needing to focus on this learning. I have made progess in that I can see it now but I have not yet mastered how to refocus it and trust God in the day to day pieces.
- I continue to be on a journey. I don't always understand all the turns in the road that the Lord has me on but still absolutely know that He still holds me in the palm of His hand.
- I am thankful for the way in which God made me. I have learned recently about how I handle change, especially at work.
Today is part of a sabbath weekend that I am having with Allison at Winter Camp and Becca and Doug on the Upland Christian Academy Choir Tour. I am thankful Lord for the way in which you are always there, always hearing me and always loving me.
