Well it's been quite the week. Still struggling with my back being out of whack and then comes a cold or flu or something! No not the swine flu (had it all checked out today) but definitely enough sickness to keep me in bed for two straight days. It stinks because I finally felt like I was gaining some sense of momentum on this sabbatical thing. However I know that it's all part of the journey for sure.

I had some great learning this week (before the sickness hit me) that I want to share. I continue to use the book "Sabbath" as a devotional type book and was really impacted by a recent chapter about making a "sabbath box." I was encouraged to make a box where I could place those items that would distract me from taking sabbath time. It suggested placing those items e.g. cell phone, keys, even something representing the computer, as you set aside time for rest. That was great but what really hit me was the next step of writing down the worries and unresolved issues of the day and placing those in the box. I loved this! So my goal is to make my sabbath box. I am wondering if a sabbath box at work might not be a bad thing - leaving items there that I can't resolve before the next day? This is something that I will have to ponder. However, I am going to start with one here at home!
