Today was the first day after practicum. All was going great through the second day of practicum until the last half hour. I had worked through all that had to be done in my mind and then the professor ended our time with a reflective moment. Of course I found myself tearing up because it was this amazing reinforcement of what it means to be a leader and the difference that can be made.
Then in one split second it was like a Mac Truck came along and hit me! I didn't realize it but we had spent the past two days focused on only six of our nine units. Two new faculty members got up and began to talk about the requirements for the remaining three research units. Oh my gosh was it a gear shift! I won't share the woes here, but bottom line, there was still more to fit into the next weeks. Of course when I got home the first thing that I had to do was get my life in order. So with the help of Visio I created my homework grid. WOW sure helped me in managing the expectations and putting it into manageable chunks!
Even though I have a few tire marks, I am still excited about the journey. Today I was able to complete the first item on my to do list! Finished my first book! Seems like a small task in light of all the numerous tasks ahead, however I am celebrating!!!!
