One day you believe you can and the next you don't. Seems to be my journey right now.
I am learning much about myself on the road to a doctoral degree, and I imagine that is what the faculty at ULV had planned. However, what I didn't expect was that within four weeks of the program, that I would already begin to face the demons that have forever haunted me. Demons you might ask? Well, it would seem that the Sabbatical scratched the surface and revealed some deeper learning's that I need to continue to wrestle with. 1. My desire to serve people, 2. My lack of discipline, and 3. My inability to live somewhere in the middle verse all in or all out. Not sure that I really articulated these three things as clearly a year a go as I am now, but they are definitely clear now.
Even in all the moments of doubt, fear and frustration however, I still know this is the journey that I am suppose to be on and that it is preparing me for whatever lies ahead. But for today, I continue to hand it over. "Cast ALL your cares on Him for He will care for you" is the verse I rest in today. Thank you Lord for being on this journey with me.
The photo attached is from the WLDI Conference in June 2009, and reminds me that God is ever present in my life.
