It's the night before I return to work and I am sitting here at the kitchen table, shutters open to the street, husband washing my car, girls cleaning the dishes and me trying to gather my thoughts before tomorrow.
This week was nothing like I had planned. You know that glossy-fuzzy looking kind of picture that seemed so perfect when you thought of it? Sitting in the sun, listening to your ipod, writing in your journal and reflecting on everything you've learned...all wrapped up with a peaceful spirit while hearing again from the Lord. Well it wasn't glossy-fuzzy and I laid in bed most of the time frustrated that I couldn't get up and do much of anything. However - the Lord still met me even though it was on my back.
I am still unraveling my learnings and gifts from sabbatical and plan to make some form of presentation to share with those who supported me on my journey. For today however I want to share that I was given the gift of my family. I found time with my youngest daughter Allison, conversations with my oldest daughter Rebecca and unimaginable support from my husband Doug. Though our relationships are always changing and growing, I am thankful for the time we had together.
Also on my mind are the thoughts of re-entering APU. I have found a new sense of what it is that I contribute but at the same time I am nervous about what the following days hold related to how I might best serve at APU. I am convinced however that God is faithful and will show the way as He always has as I go forward.
Finally, I know that this blog is suppose to be while I am "gone" however I have much to still unravel from my time away and will continue to post here the journey back and the learnings along the way.
