I have just spent the past three days working hard to prepare for the week ahead. SO much to get done! As I began to work my way through last week I found myself becoming overwhelmed with school, work, family, and of course the holiday. There I was trying to figure out how to apply my recent learning on time management and energy & resilience, and I was not being effective.
Instead of giving the list of all that was accomplished this weekend, I want to focus on what I celebrate as I head into the next week.
I am extremely thankful for...
- My husband who is patient when I am overwhelmed. For being the person who sat through my persuasive presentation multiple times this evening in preparation for the final tomorrow. For loving me despite my many flaws. For absolutely believing in me way more than I believe in myself!
- My girls who make me laugh and of whom I am so proud. This weekend it was amazing to sit back and see them both ministering through their gifts at church. Their commitment to God and to loving each other gives me joy beyond measure.
- My church. In the midst of a crazy week I walk into church needing a word from my Lord - and I always get it! I am thankful for the pastoral staff who listen to the Lord and lead our congregation weekly.
- My friends. How many people have deep friendships with people who they can laugh, talk, and exercise with! Of course we eat together too, but the friendships are truly gifts from God.
- My Ed.D program. Never before have I been on such a transformative journey. It is clearly God's timing that I am in this program. Though I find it hard to balance it all, I am SO thankful for this opportunity.
- My Lord and Savior - who came to earth in order that I might know Him and have the opportunity to invite Him into my life.
